The Premier Original Music Showcase!- Go! Man, Go! Shows

Just What IS Go! Man, Go!?

Go, Man, Go! was created in the summer of 2002 by musicians for musicians to try and jump start the struggling original music scene in central NY.

The main problems were a lack of quality clubs to play in, the likelihood that an original band couldn’t play on it's own for 3-4 hours (Bars didn't want groups that couldn't play all night and play cover songs,) and a lack of money to properly promote the show and pay the soundman and other expenses necessary for a good production.

These problems outlined the main goals of Go, Man, Go! To match quality area bands together and play multi-band shows. The shows are promoted, booked, and advertised. Sound is covered and so are many other miscellaneous expenses like a doorman, etcetera. Go, Man, Go! only keeps a minimal percentage of the total after expenses in order to prepare for the next show.

The absolute beauty of Go, Man, Go! is the fact that original bands are making some money for their efforts. That was virtually unheard of just two years ago! The response has been phenomenal. Not only are there many bands that want in, but the bars are also looking to book original showcases now based on positive results.

We have high standards. We only want top-notch, professional acts in professional clubs. You won't catch a Go, Man, Go! show at just any bar. We want our patrons to hear great bands in the right setting with the right sound every single time. No one wants to compete with a juke box or the latest chicken wing special.

Go, Man, Go! will accept any promo kit for review. We encourage all bands of all styles to apply and we'll be as accommodating as possible. Please send your promo kits to the address listed in the contact info on the right side of this page.
